Wordle: Smashed Verse

Poetry

Deux Deux

Two is a euphemistic crap
A cardinal without his hat
Two is a glyph that resembles a duck
The switch that transforms me into them and us
Two are the shoes but rarely the socks
It's goggles and crutches and earrings and rocks
Two has a wubble-dew sneakily hid
It's Ray's dancing toaster, Venkman's rampant id
Two is a couplet upholding strong verse
It's the fingers I raise to the perceived reader's expectation of form.

Duchamp
(rejected for publication in the Blackpool Evening Gazette due to readers' sensitivities)

Porcelain bowl, ignorant white
contains a bloodbath

plastic seat powdered with rust

mud-clots, like rabbit livers
drop to the bottom
demersal fish
plunged into the red abyss

jewels, fire-bright, splashed up the sides

Duchamp’s Fountain, a derivative disappointment

Periodical
(written in response to Blackpool Evening Gazette's rejection)

Ink rag, unwitting white
contains a bloodbath
a gory outrage

smudges smear the margins
mud-clots punctuate,
raw, hematic page

fingers, imbrued with facts
his lady’s damned spots

what happened backstage
won’t make the cut

.

Black and white zombie

Groaning in the dark
Awkward scuffle at the door
Who let the cow in?

Bus Stop Physics

Time equals distance
Ten minutes here appear miles
From there, but an inch

Lyrics

Taint
(
written for Dan Lacey's Faithmouse character under pseudonym Myfi)

Why don't we liaise
My nets will part
Revealing a window that's only for you

Why can't we relax
Don't mind the mess dear
I toyed with Obama for something to do

Why don't you confess
I hear repentance
Arouses, asphyxiation for the soul

Why do I digress
My work is not over
Til green faces smile from down beneath soiled springs

Even my redeemer is resting
I carry
        The weight of the world

Expectations, frustrations
No conference, no glory
Just dark rooms and juices
Resentment and stories

Seems their armies will march for the mice
It's time to raise my price

Surely what's left here is mine
To dispose of as I like
True no treaty abides
For that little sacrifice
But you know battlegrounds
Lie wherever killing's found
